Essay Topics of Thomas Hardys The Woodlanders

Essay Topics of Thomas Hardy's The WoodlandersWhere can one go to find Thomas Hardy's The essay topics? Not many authors have been able to write so accurately about such a vast variety of different subjects. Hardy's work has always been difficult to categorize but he did in fact create some very interesting essays about a variety of different subjects.Hardy's essays are his most well known pieces. The essays focus on subjects that are in his life at the time and that he speaks of in his work. It was through his essays that we began to learn about his childhood, his work, his relationships and his lack of interest in things that interest him.Hardy is most famous for his essays that deal with love, romance and friendship but that doesn't mean that the essay topics aren't interesting. If anything, the essay topics become more complex and their relationship to each other becomes much more pronounced. This is because of the many facets of the subject matter that Hardy addresses in his wri ting.Hardy begins by saying that he has no interest in writing about love and romance. However, he knows very well that his friends have also told him about all of the 'enticing' stories that they hear from their love interests. Hardy then goes on to write about the various things that he has learned about love, romance and friendship. He writes about the value of friendship and how it differs from romance. In one of the most interesting aspects of this book, Hardy makes fun of one of his many friends that he never really understood. Although he has never had much in the way of true understanding of his friend, Hardy has enough insight to write about the impact that her type of friendship has had on him. This is a very unique aspect of the book and something that Hardy touches on in several of his other works. Hardy has a strong background in poetry and he utilizes this knowledge in his essays. However, this doesn't mean that he is only interested in the written word. The poems in th is book are interesting as well but some of them make mention of places and people that he probably knew well before he wrote about them. There are a few essays in the book that address topics that are very personal and many of the essay topics relate to Hardy's experience in England. He then discusses his experiences in the United States and some of the personal dilemmas that he has experienced there. In addition to this, he discusses how he felt about the changing racial tensions in America.Hardy is not afraid to be highly descriptive and it shows in the essay topics that he has written. All of the essays in this book are very interesting and the subject matter is handled very well. Even with all of the personal nature of the essay topics, they have very little in common with one another.

The Impact Of Traditional Banking On Banking Essay

Acquiring a loan was once a long and arduous process involving heaps of confusing paperwork and more importantly time. If you walk away from the process without any hassles or hidden fees, then consider yourself lucky. Today the lending space is virtually unrecognizable thanks to the disruptive power of financial technology. Essay on Motivating Students in Writing Curriculum

Being an effective Instructor of Composition at the community college level requires a variety of skills and talents, many of which simply can’t be taught in formal classroom settings. Facing constant pressure to make judgments that have weighty consequences is just one of the challenges of teaching writing. A writing teacher who is too strict or inflexible can give students the excuse they may be seeking to withdraw or not perform in class. Some students are only too eager to proclaim that they can’t possibly meet high standards in writing, so there is â€Å"no use in even trying.† Putting stringent rules in place for a writing class does not necessarily provide an atmosphere that will foster successful student writing. But being lenient and†¦show more content†¦Which students are just trying to take advantage of a sensitive and compassionate teacher? And it is fair to other students to make exceptions for students with seemingly extenuating circumstanc es? Teaching writing has a way of forcing me to evaluate my principals and ethics on a daily basis. This is an exhausting task. While it could be argued that teachers of all subjects have to deal with this dilemma, the very nature of writing presents a unique situation. Students cannot seem to resist writing a personal essay whether one is requested or not. A teacher of Math or Chemistry is not likely to receive an essay in which personal information is disclosed. Even with my limited years of experience teaching writing in college and high school, I can confirm that students write mainly about what they know. And what they know best is their own lives. Receiving essays and verbal communications of a personal nature-and in turn responding to such offerings---seems to be part of the job. This observation confirms one of the conclusions drawn by Dan Morgan in an essay entitled â€Å"Ethical Issues Raised By Students’ Personal Writing† published in College English in March 199 8. Morgan illustrates some of his experiences as a writing teacher and more importantly, shares with his reader insights about the ambiguous complexion of writing instruction today: The inescapable conclusion is that the very nature of teaching itself has changed, especially inShow MoreRelatedUsing A Educational Article Tasdiq Alam, An Educational Lecturer, And Researcher824 Words   |  4 Pagestechniques validate the essence of not only motivating students, but certifying the leading cause as to why secondary students are motivated. Rizal Law free essay sample

Also known as the Rizal Law, RA 1425 was written by Senator Jose P. Laurel and started out as senate bill no. 438 filed on April 3, 1956 by the Committee on Education. The bill that was considered as basis for this act is called the Noli-Fili Bill, written by Claro M. Recto which makes the reading of the two novels compulsory. RA 1425 passed through several trials and issues, including its being assailed as an attempt to disrepute Catholicism. Mostly, oppositions came from the Catholic churches. Some of the officials who were against the bill were Mariano Cuenco, Fransisco Rodriguez and Decoroso Rosales. Finally, through the response of the Committee on Education, the bill was approved on June 12, 1965. In the provisions of the law, it was stated that all schools, public or private, colleges and university courses should include the curricula on the life, works and writings of Jose Rizal particularly the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. We will write a custom essay sample on Rizal Law or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The aim of the law is mainly for the general public to gain civic conscience, a patriotic mind and awareness on the duties of citizenship. It also intends to give honor to Rizal, a national hero and patriot to highlight the sense of nationalism in the minds of the citizens. Section 1 requires the original and unexpurgated editions of Noli and El Fili to be used as basic texts for the teaching of the novels. Included also in the provisions is the authorization given to reprint and redistribute the books. In Section 2 it states that an adequate copy of the novels should be contained in the libraries of universities and its adequacy will be determined by the Board of National Education. Section 3 ensures the availability of access on the literatures by allowing the printing of cheap and popular editions as well as their distributions without charge in the Barrio councils throughout the country. Finally in section number 5, a budget of 300,000 pesos is allotted to carry out the purposes of the act. The bill is now more than half a century already since the time it was filed in 1956. During the presidential term of Fidel V. Ramos, the bill caught attention again when he ordered the full implementation of the law. In an article by Ambeth Ocampo (Rizal Law Not Being Followed, Phil Daily Inquirer 2008), she tackled the effectivity of the bill in the context of todays generation. There is also the concern raised on the complete observance of all the sections stated in the bill. The trend of attitude towards the law seems to be tending away from the original aims of it and it is rather becoming just another requirement or subject to fulfill for a four or five year course in college.

Resume writing tips for 2018

Resume writing tips for 2018 Are you looking to take your job hunt to the next level this year? If so, then every aspect of your game needs to be razor sharp- especially your resume. Why is this so important? Along with your cover letter, your resume will serve as your first impression to prospective employers, hiring managers, and HR personnel, and we’re all aware of the lasting power of first impressions. Ask any seasoned professional who’s responsible for reviewing the resumes of potential hires and they’d most likely be able to share a laundry list of hilarious- and tragic- resume missteps and mistakes that sunk the chances of their creators before they ever had the chance to show what they’re capable of. Forbes even published an article about some of the more outlandish resume tricks that they’ve come across. These include:One candidate who sent his resume in the form of an oversized Rubik’s Cube, where you had to push the tiles around to align the resume.A job seek er who applied for a food and beverage management position sent a resume in the form of a fine-dining menu.An applicant created a marketing brochure promoting herself as the best candidate.Another job applicant crafted his resume to look like Google search results for the â€Å"perfect candidate.†Outlandish moves like these are always a big risk when sending out your resume- the truth is, sometimes they can serve to make you stand out from a crowd in a good way, but other times they’ll only serve to have your resume laughed all the way to the garbage can or trash folder. Are you willing to accept such a risk? The Forbes article also mentioned that â€Å"one-in-five HR managers reported that they spend less than 30 seconds reviewing applications and around 40% spend less than one minute,† so your window of opportunity for making a good impression is likely slim, to say the least. When creating a resume, there’s little room for error and a misstep can be cos tly.Your best bet here is to apply the principles of effective resume writing that have proven themselves to work time and time again. Great Resumes Fast recently published an article on the best resume writing tips for 2018- these sound principles hold true regardless of whether you’re trying to land your very first job or you’re a seasoned professional looking to reach the pinnacle of your career ladder.Consider using the following resume dos and don’ts when you’re crafting your next resume, and you’ll be setting yourself up to make a great impression on your next job hunt.Resume DosDefine your goals: What is your primary goal for your next big job hunt? Sure, it’s a big question, but it’s one worth asking yourself and answering before you start working on your resume. Why? Your primary goal will be your â€Å"guiding compass† as you craft your resume- everything from your objective to the keywords you use should be targeted towards the industry and position you’re hoping to nail down. Without a primary goal, your resume may come off as unfocused or ambiguous, two qualities that won’t score you any points with hiring managers. Great Resumes Fast suggests asking yourself the following questions when trying to define your purpose and goals:What vision do you have for your career over the next 1, 3, 5, or 10 years?Which values are driving your goals? What’s your purpose? What are you passionate about? Why do you do  what  you do?Target your audience: Once you define your goals, you should be able to articulate a clear vision of your resume’s intended audience- these are the companies, industries, and insiders that you’ve targeted to help you achieve your goals. Great Resumes Fast suggests asking yourself the following questions when trying to define your audience:Are their specific companies I’m interested in?Am I aiming to secure a position in a specific industry ?What advantage or benefit does this position bring to their business? What will the company be lacking or missing if there’s no one in this position?Consider some of the struggles and obstacles facing the employer and the industry. Make a list of the most critical ones, and reflect on times in the past when you’ve confronted similar challenges.Define your value proposition: Once you’ve targeted your audience, you can use your resume (and subsequent interviews) to identify their issues and needs and demonstrate how you can help address them- your unique value proposition. Ask yourself the following questions when trying to define your value proposition:What benefit or contribution do you add? What key accomplishments or successes have you delivered time and time again? What would you say is unique about yourself and how you do what you do?What are your greatest strengths?Reach out to friends, family, and your network and ask them which words they would use to descr ibe you. What do others see as the value you add?Read through your LinkedIn recommendations and past performance evaluations and look for themes. When you put similar words and phrases together what picture do you get? What do others say are your greatest strengths? How do others describe you? What do your boss, team, and direct reports come to you for on a regular basis?Define what makes you stand out: The truth is, for every position you decide to go after you’ll be going up against a slew of qualified and capable individuals. Therefore, your mission is to convince those who come across your resume that you possess certain attributes that make you stand out positively from the job-hunting pack. Ask yourself the following questions when trying to communicate on your resume what makes you stand out:How have you positively influenced others? What would others say is fascinating, compelling, or interesting about you? What benefit would an employer or company get from choosing you ove r another candidate? What benefit or value did you bring to your previous employers?Resume Don’tsAvoid the red flags: If you want to be taken seriously by hiring personnel and prospective employers, there are just some things that should not be a part of any resume- for any position- period. This includes weird email addresses, nicknames, any dubious distinctions (no one cares that you were a beer drinking champion in college), or creepy or disturbing work experiences or accomplishments. Remember, you want the first impression that you give off to be that you’re a polished and capable professional who could potentially add real valuable to your target companies’ teams.Don’t get too cute: Sure, we’ve said before that you want to try to stand out from the rest of the job-hunting pack, but doing so by using wacky and colorful fonts or paper or utilizing a too-cute but ultimately confusing resume format will only detract from your perception as a compet ent and mature professional. Unless it’s standard practice in your industry, or you’re asked specifically to take a creative approach to applying for a particular job, stick to the traditional format and let the content of your resume serve to make you stand out from the crowd.Don’t let mistakes take you out: The people who’ll read your resume are likely seasoned professionals with plenty of experience, and you better believe that they’ll be able to laser focus on any typo, error, or mistake you leave behind- and when they’re uncovered, the chances of your being seriously considered for the job will likely plummet. Do yourself a huge favor and check and double-check your resume for errors before you send it out. Better yet, have someone you trust check your work; a second fresh set of eyes is always a good idea. There you have it- use these tips when you’re writing your next resume, and you’ll be in great shape to make 2018 your year for earning your next big career opportunity.

Global Warming is Here. Now What? Essay -- Climate Change, Synthesis E

Global warming denial and unprogressive energy outlooks are all products of not seeing the full picture. The evidence is clear, even in nature. Plants are blooming earlier, animals are waking up from hibernation earlier, birds are migrating farther north, and populations of animals have already gone extinct due to global warming. Yet, some still stay stern in denying its reality. That being said, even honest open-minded people can fall prey to misleading notions and statistics. To truly uncover the truth, we need to see the full picture. While researching climate change, with the mountains of false or cherry-picked data out there, you certainly learn to be skeptical of a source's creditability. You also, learn the importance of getting the full picture, rather than just a partial one. Heres a few examples, of what I'm talking about. A while back many were convinced that because CO2 follows global surface temperature increase by about 800-1000 years, that CO2 as a cause of global warming was disproved. Which made sense; how can a cause follow a result? It seemed to go against the basic order of cause and effect. Al Gore even strengthened the argument, by mistakenly telling the audience in his video An Inconvenient Truth, that CO2 lead temperature. So when that statement turned out to be false, many people came to the conclusion that climatologists were wrong about CO2, and if they were wrong about a major cause than maybe they were wrong about global warming all together. However, unknown to most of those people at the time, climatologists were already very aware of CO2's lag behind temperature. The complexity of the process was already known. It isn't a straight forward cause and effect ordeal. The initiator is... ...ance of the greenhouse effect. Information I will use to explain the greenhouse effect. Debate Final Exam

July 13, 2007 Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Today our resolution is legalization of drugs does not damage society. We are on the negative group strongly against this resolution. Let’s look at the important points. The affirmative team had four points: personal behavior, price, safety and management. Their first point is personal behavior. They said that everyone has the right to choose his or her own lifestyle. It’s true. But one’s own choice should be based on social morality and within limits. If anyone just goes straight to do what they want, the society even the whole world will be out of control. The affirmative team didn’t consider this undeniable principle. In addition, taking drugs is not a good way to relax and entertain. Their second point is price. They said that if drug was legislated by the government, the black-markets will disappear. It’s not necessarily true that the black-markets will disappear. Because many markets legalized still have black markets out of the government’s reach. They also said that the government would lower the price of drugs so that drug users will not be forced to do criminals in order to get the money for drugs. First, the government might lower the price but the degree will be limited, for the costs of drugs are still high and expensive. It remains a money problem for the drug users. So it’s not true that legalization of drugs will decrease criminals. Second, the lower the price is, the more drug users are. Their third point is safety. They said that the pure heroin do very little harm to human body. It’s not true. Because no matter how pure the heroin is, it still does harm to human body for is a kind of medicine that has effect on human body. Not only that, drugs may cause both mental and physical disease, like cancer. Their fourth point is management. They said that drug users increased year by year is because of the action of forbidding drugs. Actually, it’s the opposite. America is one of the countries who has legalized drugs but still among the top countries with most drug users. As for china, we have law to forbid drugs and the drug abuse is not as serious as those countries. On out side, we have three points to support our opinion: heath, harmonious society and money. Our first point is health. Obviously, drugs will do great harm to people both physically and mentally. If the government legalizes drugs, the convenience and lower price will cause more and more drug users, because drugs could be bought everywhere just like food. So why take something that is harmful to us? Our second point is harmonious society. First, drug users will cause family problems. The costs of drugs come from family. That’s a very reason for divorce. Divorce will cause many other social problems. Second, legalization of drugs will have bad effect on adolescence. So naive are they, they have the curiosity of imitating adults, such as smoking. Our third point is money. Drug users will spend a lot of money on it. If the price is lowed by the government, the drug users will take more, after all, high price is a limitation for their habits. That’s all. Thank you.

There has been so many presidents that have done good things for our country, but there has also been some Presidents that have not done so well as far as the citizens of the United States are concerned. It seems that every elected president i have ever seen or heard of in office has done something wrong based on the fact that there are citizens that do not agree with a decision that he has made, whether it be sending our troops overseas to fight in a war or applying some type of law that they feel will help with our economy or improve the quality of life of the citizens.
